Proof of identity (driver’s license or other government-issued identification) is mandatory at the time of pick up. Group bookings require only one person (over 18 years) with proof of identity, he/she will be the primary renter and responsible for all rented equipment.
Bookings are binding. Booked equipment must be collected no later than 11.00 am on the first day of rental. If you have not notified Åre Bikes of late arrival (after 11:00 am) we cannot guarantee the availability of the equipment.
All payments are made in advance.
Bookings canceled more than 7 days prior to the first rental day, will be refunded the full amount. If canceled 1-5 days before the first rental day, 50% of the full amount will be refunded. If canceled less than 48 hours before the first rental day are non-refundable. In the event of cancellation due to medical reasons, a letter from a medical professional is required for a full refund.
The renter is responsible for leased equipment
The renter accepts full responsibility for the care of the equipment while it is under his/her possession. In the event of negligence or theft, the renter will be liable for damages incurred or the retail price of the equipment (at the time of rental). If the renter is under the age of 18, the guardian is responsible.
All cycling with rented mountain bike is done at your own risk
Åre Bikes AB assumes no liability in the event of personal injury or damage to clothing that may arise during the rental period. Åre Bikes AB is not insured for personal injuries or damages to personal property. Consult your home insurance for information in the case of damage or loss of rented equipment.
Inspection of equipment
The renter is responsible for inspection and approval of rented equipment at pick-up, before leaving Åre Bikes.
Return of rented equipment
The equipment must be returned during the hours of operation of the bicycle rental, 09.30-16.30. The rental bike must be cleaned before being returned to the designated location if this is not done, cleaning charges will apply.
The rented equipment may be used by the renter only. It can not be transferred, second hand rented or sold by the renter.
Respect the rules
It is mandatory for the renter to follow the rules and regulations that apply in Åre Bike Park as well as the surrounding areas.
Rental bikes (DH and XC) are not approved for public transport and therefore must not be driven on roads where traffic rules apply. Getting to and from Åre Bike Park is ok.
During thunderstorms and storms
During thunderstorms and other weather phenomena the lifts can be forced to close, often thunderstorms last no more than one hour in the summer. In this case, no compensation will be paid. If the thunderstorm continues throughout the day and the lifts remain closed due to weather conditions for a longer period of time the full amount of the rental is refunded.
Åre Bikes AB reserves the right to cancel a booking if we determine that the weather conditions are too severe.
However, we would like to point out that normal weather conditions containing rain, cold, wind, sunshine, heat, etc. are all part of the natural experience and no valid reason for cancellation. In Åre we are always ready to face the elements and “don’t forget your jacket” as grandma would say.
